Elder Care Companion

Is there an aging adult in your life who can benefit from companionship and additional support with managing providers and appointments?

❥ cultivating compassionate connection

❥ Navigating Care management

❥ Enhancing advanced aging Experience

I have deep love and respect for the wisdom of elders. I had a very close relationship with my grandmother throughout my whole life. And I carry that relationship in my heart when supporting aging adults.

I love to meaningfully connect at a slower pace during my hospice volunteering time with a non-verbal elder in late stage Alzheimer’s – developing ways for us to tenderly and compassionately bond through music, movement, reading, and silence.

As a certified Elder Care Manager, I provide various services and supports to alleviate the pressures and constraints that typically accompany the care for people with advanced illness and aging.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Compassionate Companionship (reading, oral storytelling, music, somatic movement, meditation, games, etc.)
  • Visiting nursing facility
  • Coordinating and managing care with providers, especially when multiple doctors and therapists are involved
  • Locating community resources
  • Providing options for what to do next about the older adult’s care.
  • Organizing care needs when there’s a change in one’s situation
  • Advocating for and protecting the interests of the older adult
  • Helping solve family disputes
